Buses

Bus routes and numbers can change so you are advised to contact Mersey Travel Line on 0151 236 7676 or www.merseytravel.gov.uk for up to date information. Buses which stop on Longmoor Lane are closer to the Sid Watkins Building, whereas buses which stop on Lower Lane are closer to the main hospital entrance. Trains

The nearest train station is Fazakerley, which is a five-minute walk from the Sid Watkins Building and is fully accessible for those with disabilities.

 

Taxis

There is a freephone in the main hospital reception connecting you to a local firm, Acorn Taxis (0151 546 4444). Anyone on reception in either the main hospital or the Sid Watkins Building will help you to call a taxi firm.

Car Parking

If you have a car with you, the following charges will occur. Up to 30 minutes is free to enable drop offs and collections. Prices are below for after 30 minutes:

30 minutes – 1 ½ hours      -           £3.00

1 ½ hours – 2 ½ hours        -           £4.00

2 ½ hours – 3 ½ hours        -           £4.50

Over 3 ½ hours                    -           £5.50

 

Weekly Car Parking Pass & Parking concessions

Relatives and visitors can obtain a weekly ticket of a cost of £17.50 per week from the machine. Concessionary passes must only be used in the designated car park areas. 

Multi storey car park (P5): £17.50 weekly pass. Tickets can only be purchased from the ticket machines in the multi storey car park

The Walton Centre main building car park (P1): £17.50 weekly pass, £40 monthly pass. Main building passes must only be used in the car park situated on the right, at the front of the main building, as you enter the car park from Lower Lane.

There are only 30 spaces available in this area. The passes are not valid in any other areas of the front car park or anywhere else on site, this includes the area situated down the ramp to the left as you enter the car park. A fine may be imposed if vehicles are parked improperly.

To purchase a concessionary parking pass for the main building car park please visit the Cash Office, ground floor (between the Courtyard Bistro and the Outpatient Department) in the main building of The Walton Centre. The car parks in front of the main building of The Walton Centre main building remains pay and display. See the hospital site map for further details.
