Lymm Runners raise over £15,000 for The Walton Centre Charity Following their incredible fundraising efforts in 2025, Lymm Runners chose The Walton Centre Charity as their Charity of the Year for 2026—and their support has continued to go from strength to strength. Since the club’s original 48-hour Goggins Challenge, its members have raised a further £15,696 through another Goggins Challenge earlier this year, and by Rich Waggitt taking on the 2026 London Marathon. The club’s fundraising journey began after Rich received life-changing treatment at The Walton Centre. You can read the original story here . Today, we were honoured to welcome Rich back to The Walton Centre, where he and fellow Lymm Runners member Kate O’Connor presented the fundraising cheque alongside Professor Michael Jenkinson, who was Rich’s consultant throughout his time at the hospital. Kate also has a personal connection to The Walton Centre, having received treatment here in 2002. Both Kate and Rich were proud to give something back to the hospital that had supported them. Lymm Runners have raised a further £15,696 for The Walton Centre Charity in 2026. The total was raised through another Goggins Challenge and Rich Waggitt’s London Marathon effort. Members of Lymm Runners gathered together to cheer Rich on. Kate and Rich leading the club’s fundraising efforts. The club’s connection to The Walton Centre extends far beyond Rich and Kate. Through their fundraising, members discovered that around six or seven people within Lymm Runners had previously received treatment at the hospital. Many more members also knew a family member or friend who had been cared for here, making the decision to support The Walton Centre Charity especially meaningful for the whole club. Rich and Kate said everyone at Lymm Runners was thrilled to give back and help support the specialist care provided to patients and families at The Walton Centre.
