Simon's 3 Runs - Great North Run, Virtual London Marathon & Alton Towers Donate During lockdown 2020 we lost a great family friend Spen Webster, he spent time and had treatment at the Walton Centre during his fight against his brain tumour.I wanted to do something to help raise money and awareness for this great place and all the great work they do. As a result i gave myself 3 challenges:I recently ran my first ever Half Marathon, at the Great North Run, in Newcastle, and i am still smiling to myself with my time of 2hrs 14mins, which would of been Spens 70th birthday weekend, which i feel helped me around knowing he would be proud of me doing this.On Sunday 3rd October i will be taking part in the Virtual London Marathon ( do it your way ) I will be running around Widnes all day.On Sunday 16th Nov I will be finishing my 3 month challenge by doing the Alton Towers half marathonThe Walton Centre in Liverpool offers a world class neuroscience service which includes many pioneering techniques, cutting edge treatments; and clinicians who are international leaders in their field. Over 100,000 patients are treated at the hospital each year with conditions ranging from head and spinal trauma injuries; brain and spine tumours; Epilipsy, MS, Motor Neurone Disease and Parkinson. The Charity funds a variety of projects in the hospital including research, innovation, new technology and patient & family facilities.Thank you for reading this and i thank you again for any donation towards this great cause.
