Hi everyone,
During May, in memory of Joe, I’m taking part in the Walton Centre Charity’s “Walk for Walton 2025”. This is a virtual event when I will be walking 100,000 steps during the month.
Money raised will go directly to The Walton Centre’s ‘Home from Home’ Unit which, funded purely by charity donations is a facility that provides accommodation for relatives of patients admitted for urgent treatment and lifesaving surgeries.
There are eight ensuite bedrooms, two of which are suitable for families and for those with a disability. The Fairclough Family room offers sofas, TV and a kitchenette and dining area. There is also a quiet room for anyone that needs a private space, a laundry, fully equipped for washing and drying and free wifi is provided.
I am taking part in this event to support this valuable resource, which includes the “Joe Mullin Suite”.
Since Joe’s passing, 29th October 2005, over £91k has been donated to local charities in his memory with over £70k going to the Walton Centre, who we have been working with for almost 17 years.
