I’m Hiking Snowdon to raise funds for The Walton Centre’s Home from Home Accommodation Unit on the 30th September!

In 2014 I was diagnosed with a brain tumour when I was 33 weeks pregnant. Life shattering news, but there was light. That light was The Walton Centre. They stepped in, guided us and nursed us through. They provided support, expert knowledge, life saving surgery and a pastoral care programme, that is Home from Home accommodation unit which is outstanding and essential for families. We will be eternally grateful for their support.

The Home from Home Accommodation Unit supported and looked after the two most important people in my life, my husband and now my perfect 6 week old baby boy, whilst I was having surgery and recovering. The Home from Home is accommodation for patient families to stay in whilst their loved ones were going through extremely difficult times.

For my family it provided, accommodation, a safe space, support, friendship and kind hearted staff that helped support the entire journey. Without Home from Home my family would have had to travel 3 to 4 hours each day. For me knowing that my family were 5 minutes away, reduced stress and worry knowing that I could see them when ever I wanted. We needed it, others needed it, families in the future will need it.

PLEASE SUPPORT THE HOME FROM HOME ACCOMMODATION UNIT

‘Our Home from Home fund helps families stay together when their loved ones are undergoing life-saving treatment at the hospital. A £20 donations funds a one night stay, £60 funds a three night stay and £100 funds a five night stay’.

So to help raise funds and keep this amazing unit going, I am hiking Snowdon. The above is just a guide, any donation will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance from the bottom of my heart. Please take I look at the video below to give you an idea of how amazing this place is.
