In February 2024 my son Josh, who was only 18 at the time, unexpectedly suffered a ruptured AVM (brain haemorrhage). Since then he’s been looked after and cared for by the staff at the Walton Centre in Liverpool, the countries only specialist neurological trust.

In order to fundraise for the Walton Centre Charity I will be cycling the Trans Pennine Trail from Southport in the West, to Hornsea on the East coast. This covers 215 miles over 4 days. On the way I'll be stopping by the Walton Centre to get a lift by meeting up with Josh and the staff caring for him at the Sid Watkins rehabilitation unit.

This is my way of giving something back to the wonderful staff who have, and are continuing to look after Josh and the important research they do. Duncan Wareham
