Kirsty & Lucy's Walk for Walton Donate A message from Kirsty: For many, a brain aneurysm is described as "the worst headache of my life," but for me, I was lucky and had time on my side. Finding out about the first was a shock; discovering the second felt like an impossible weight. On the 4th of February I underwent surgery that involved fitting a stent in the paraophthalmic artery, the stent acts by reconstructing the parent artery, diverting blood flow away from the aneurysm sac. I owe my life to the steady hands of neurosurgeons and the rapid evolution of medical technology. The Walton centre will hold a special place in my heart for the rest of my life, I want to give back in any way I can. Your donation will mean a lot to me, as well as the families that will benefit from this now or in the future. A message from Lucy: In 2023 my brother was treated at Walton Centre after a ruptured brain aneurysm. While at the time his condition was unstable, his care at The Walton Centre was consistently exceptional. Although he is still on the long road to recovery he is now back to enjoying life, and we are incredibly grateful to the wonderful doctors and nurses who looked after him during this time. By donating and supporting us you’re helping to raise funds to support Waltons Home from Home relatives’ accommodation. The funds go to ensuring families can stay close to loved ones who are undergoing life-saving treatment at The Walton Centre. Lucy Kibble Manage Cookie Preferences
