I will be running the Aintree Race Course Half Marathon on Sunday 29th September to raise funds for The Walton Centre Charity.

I’ve definitely never been “sporty”, but after running my first 10k in December of 2023, it’s fair to say I’ve caught the running bug. When I set myself the goal of running a half marathon this year, I instantly knew I would be doing it for The Walton Centre.

In 2007 my dad had a brain haemorrhage.

Following 6 hours of surgery, he emerged with a rather large keyhole bruise, a handful of medication and the biggest grin on his face.

I will never forget him scooped me up in his arms on the day he was discharged.

That moment was only possible because of The Walton Centre; its pioneering treatments, talented surgeons and supportive wellbeing staff. Special shout out to “Caton Ward”!

Please support in any way you can - donations, sharing this page or supporting me along the route!💪🏼 Charlie Apel
