Fletchers Solicitors Suite Expand In addition to supporting Home from Home events, Rob Fletcher organised a team of 7 cyclists to take on a sponsored challenge to raise money for the appeal. The team cycled from Calais to Ventoux in France, undertaking an average of 110 miles per day for 6 days. Fletchers Solicitors covered any costs involved which meant that all sponsorship monies raised by the team, directly benefitted the Home from Home Appeal.
Wendy Forrester Suite Expand The Donald Forrester Trust made a significant donation to the Home from Home Appeal following the successful treatment of family member Wendy Forrester. Miss Forrester, who lives in London, suffered a subdural haematoma whilst visiting a relative in North Wales and was taken to The Walton Centre for treatment. Her family learned of the appeal and made a donation to help support families who might need relatives’ accommodation in the future.
League of Friends Suite Expand The League of Friends have supported patients and families at The Walton Centre for many years, providing equipment and facilities over and above NHS requirements as well as presenting gifts to all patients at Christmas and Easter. They made a significant donation to the Home from Home Appeal in recognition of the difference this facility is going to make to the families of our patients.
Isle of Man Quiet Room Expand The Manx/Walton Centre Research Fund has made contributions to the Home from Home Appeal in recognition of the care given to the island’s population by The Walton Centre. The Home from Home accommodation is especially appreciated by families from the Isle of Man who need to stay, so far from home.
