The Charity funds a variety of projects in the hospital including research, innovation, new technology and patient & family facilities.

Receiving a brain tumour diagnosis is something no one should ever have to endure however is is estimated that 79,000 people will be diagnosed with a brain tumour this year, in America alone there are 700,000 people living with a tumour in their brain or CNS. The care that is provided for people with tumours is crucial as it is incredibly serious and if located in a certain place, or is cancerous could be deadly. In July this year I was one of the many diagnosed with a brain tumour. I was and still am being treated with an incredible levels of compassion and skill. The staff at the Walton Centre, Liverpool ensured that my family and I were well informed of my condition and supported me all the way through this very emotional 6 months. Thankfully, after having surgery in late August, I am slowly on the mend and hopefully will only need regular check-ups. Although what I am going through is heartbreaking, it has made myself and everyone involved more aware of the importance of the requirements for research, funding and support for people going through the same thing.
