Are you ready to help The Walton Centre make a difference to a huge number of patients and drive forward both current and future treatment and research in neurology? Then join us to help fund an Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) machine.

An OCT machine uses light waves to take cross-sectional images of the retina and the optic nerve, which is the part of your eye that senses light and sends signals to your brain which then enables you to see. The machine is so powerful that it can see through the different layers at the back of the eye and capture detailed images of the structures.

Having an OCT machine on site would be a significant step forward for patients at The Walton Centre. It would provide more accurate diagnoses and better monitoring of changes to the layers at the back of the eye which are affected in many neurological and neurosurgical conditions.

Currently, we have to rely on other hospitals in the region for access to this type of machine which is inconvenient to our patients and can delay diagnosis, monitoring and treatment.

Unlimited access to an on-site machine would also enable clinicians to conduct a variety of neuroscience research trials, impacting diagnosis and treatment for patients across the country in the future.

However, we need your help to raise the funds necessary to purchase this machine and make a real difference to patients.
