Music for Health Donate Fundraise The hospital's partnership with Royal Liverpool Philharmonic is a 12 month programme funded by The Walton Centre Charity and provides sessions for musicians from Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra to play, connect and make music with patients in their rooms, on wards, and in waiting areas. Programme involves: Weekly music making sessions for patients across wards at The Walton Centre. Bespoke performances across various areas of the hospital site, including ‘Pockets of Joy’ performances featuring a duo of musicians from the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra which can move around clinics/hospital site. Lunchtime performances in communal spaces of the hospital for patients, their family, friends and staff featuring a small ensemble of musicians from the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. "The lift that the performances give to our staff and patients have been of immense benefit to both their physical health and mental well-being. It's been wonderful to hear the musicians on the ward and see the joy brought to patients, their families and our staff. The patients' faces just light up when the musicians play. We always try and move our bed bound patients to the doors of the bays to see them, and it really gives them a boost!"
