On June 5th we were going to hold our Jan Fairclough Ladies Lunch at The Vincent Hotel to raise money for our Home from Home unit.  This sadly had to be cancelled due to the covid-19 situation so we are now inviting supporters to hold their own summer lunch – socially distant of course – and help us raise some money for our relatives’ accommodation.

In return for a donation, we will send you a three course summer menu put together by the Head Chef at The Vincent Hotel in Southport.  We also have support from our friends at Fraser Wealth Management who have promised to match up to £1,000 of any donations we receive.

How to take part?

Make a donation and we will send you the menu via email. Hold a lunch at a date to suit you this summer, at home, in the garden, with family and or friends – adhering to social distance guidelines of course!

Send us pictures we can use on our social media platforms and also share any other menus you may come up with to meet your own dietary requirements! We will draw one lucky winner from supporters taking part, who will receive a voucher for a ‘Prosecco Afternoon Tea for Two’ at The Vincent Hotel, Southport.

If cooking isn’t your favourite thing and you’d simply like to make a donation and help us get to £1,000, to make the most of the generous match funding from Fraser Wealth Management, we’d be delighted if you please make a donation here and leave a message of support.

Home from Home

The Jan Fairclough Ladies Lunch is organised in conjunction with Jan’s daughter Sophie who together with her family has supported the hospital in memory of her mum since she sadly passed away here following an aneurysm in 2011.

All money raised from this online campaign will go towards the hospital’s Home from Home – an 8 bedded relatives’ accommodation unit which allows families of some of our most critically ill patients to stay close to their loved ones while they are being treated at the hospital.

The Home from Home is provided free to families who need it, thanks to our charity supporters. It costs approximately £50,000 per year to run the unit.
