At 3pm on July 5th, people up and down the country will get together to raise a cuppa to say thank you to our beloved NHS!

Over the last 73 years the NHS has transformed the health and well-being of the nation. And helping behind the scenes are more than 250 dedicated NHS charities - The Walton Centre Charity being one of them! Whether supporting research and development, brightening up hospital environments, providing state-of-the-art technologies and equipment or supporting the amazing staff, they help the NHS to go above and beyond.

The NHS has touched us all, and no more so than this last year when the NHS helped us through the biggest challenge our country has ever faced! The outpouring of love and support for the service and our staff was overwhelming, and made a real difference during difficult times.

On Friday 5 July, people across the UK are organising tea parties in support of an NHS charity that means the most to them. Whether you raise a mug with your nearest and dearest, your work mates, or a local group is completely up to you. After a difficult year, this is a lovely way to bring your favourite people together to raise spirits, celebrate the easing of restrictions, reflect and remember, and also if you want and are able to, raise some funds to support your favourite NHS hospital!

5 July was chosen as it's the actual birthday of the NHS but you don't have to hold your party on that day - if another day in July works better, go for that!  There are lots of ways to get involved and lots of materials available to help make your tea party a success.  From posters to advertise your party, to bunting and food cards - everything is there so you can get started.

If you want to raise some money whilst holding your Big Tea, you can use our dedicated campaign page to set up a fundraising page, or make a donation.
